Historic Plaster Restoration & Molding Matching in Brooklyn, NY

Brooklyn and New York are full of prewar brownstones, townhouses and landmark buildings with plaster details that deserve to be preserved. Castelle specializes in historic plaster restoration and in matching existing moldings so repairs and additions blend invisibly with the original work.

Our process starts with a sample or a section of your existing profile. We take a mold directly from the original and cast new pieces that replicate its exact shape, depth and detail. This is ideal for repairing damaged cornices, replacing missing sections, or extending a molding into a new room.

We restore crown moldings, ceiling medallions, ornamental ceilings, arches and decorative wall elements, using traditional gypsum plaster so the new work ages and takes paint like the old. Our team has restored architectural details in landmark buildings, ensuring continuity between original craftsmanship and new work.

We serve homeowners, preservation architects and contractors across Brooklyn, Manhattan, New Jersey and Connecticut. Send photos and measurements of your existing molding and we will explain what is possible and quote the work.
